Louchie Thomas

Mother, Wife, Implementation Manager, Volunteer

"If our immigrants are educated, they will make better choices, and it's going to strengthen our community."
In 2014, at the age of 31, Louchie and her child immigrated from Haiti to the US to reunite with her husband. Initially, she was hesitant to move. Haiti was her home; she had an education, a career, and a comfortable life with her parents. She currently works as a tech implementation manager for banks. She volunteers for the Resettle RISE Network, an organization that helps new immigrant arrivals navigate life in the United States. Over the years, she has lived in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Today, Louchie is a US citizen living in the Northeast and is considering advancing her education.
