"But what I would like to bring is not just clothing, but services, which you cannot send in a barrel"
Initially, Miranda migrated from Trinidad to Antigua to support her then-husband's career in the Pentecostal church. In 1999, Miranda immigrated to the US on a student spouse (F-2) visa while her husband was attending college. Miranda arrived when she was 29 years old, and has resided in the US for the last 25 years. Miranda has worked as a teacher, but the core of her work focuses on volunteering and community building. She is the founder of the non-profit Caribbean Community in Philadelphia and she collaborates with various nonprofits and governmental organizations. She is involved in developing new programs to address the needs of her community.
